Import your HD footage from a Flip UltraHD video camera or other HD camcorders (Canon HF S100, Canon M30 series, Canon HV30 tape) using iMovie. After importing, at the Large 960 x 540 size, iMovie converts the clips to the Apple Intermediate Codec compressor setting (QuickTime movies). TheseQuickTime movie files can easily be edited in iMovie. This is how we do it Wyo, and it works very well. | |
| Convert AVI files to dv to QT. A student came in with an old flip camera, recording in avi format. iMovie 9 would not recognize it like the newer HD flips. After experimenting, I found a way to convert the AVI files to dv and then to QuickTime. | ||

| Start a new FCP project using HD footage - change the sequence setting - and add a Motion lower third text. (8:45) | ||
