The
class was taught at the Berks County Intermediate Unit by Michael P.
Farrara (Wyomissing Jr/Sr HS Technology Education Teacher) and Steve Simons (Reading/Muhlenberg Career and Tech Center Commercial Art Teacher) with help from Lily Andrules, a Senior at RHS. The class provides Berks County students entering grades 7, 8, and 9 with the opportunity to develop skills in basic video production using computer sotware for digital editing (Apple MacPro Notebook computers and iLife 08) and Canon MiniDV digital video camcorders. Each production team will: • brainstorm ideas • storyboard • create dialog • create characters • select scenes/shooting locations • act • shoot and edit video • create sound effects and digital music • add transitions and special effects • create introduction and ending credits • • Students receive all interviews and videos on a DVD • |

Do you have what it takes to make a short video
(1 to 2 minutes) in 2880 minutes (48 hours)? The 2880 Student Video Project challenges filmmaking teams to make a movie from scratch. All creativity - writing, shooting, editing and adding a musical soundtrack must occur in a 2880 minutes window beginning Tuesday at 2 pm and ending Thursday at 2 pm. Character: Rupert or Sylvia Props: Umbrella, sunglasses, and/or a wristwatch Line of dialogue: “Why are you so late?” The finished videos and interviews were shown Thursday August 13, 2009 at 2:30 pm to the students, family, and friends. |
