MultiMedia Technology 1

Second Semester


956 - MultiMedia Technology 1 is designed as a project oriented “hands on” introduction to the exciting world of multimedia (animation, color, graphics, pictures/photos, sound, text, and video) technology. Students will work with the new Apple Mac Pro computers, scanners, digital still cameras, Wyo5Live studio equipment, and more as well as a variety of software including Apple's newest iLife, Photoshop, Keynote, PowerPoint, Pages, QuickTime Pro, Final Cut Pro, Motion, LiveType, SnapZ Pro, ScreenFlow, QTVR, Adobe After Effects, and more. Students will be introduced to videography and learn about proper use and care of video and audio equipment. Students will also plan, shoot and edit video using Final Cut Pro and/or iMovie. Instruction will also include experiences in graphic design, layout work, package design, QTVR creation, and much more. A variety of individual and team multimedia projects can be burned to CD, or DVD for use as a student portfolio. Students will pay for or supply all blank media and storage cases.

957 - MultiMedia Technology 2 is an exciting project oriented “hands on” semester course, designed for the video enthusiast, focusing on the audio and video side of the interesting world of multimedia (animation, color, graphics, pictures/photos, sound, text, and video) technology. The students will learn how to properly and creatively use digital video cameras using tape and Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash cards. The students will learn pre-production, production, and post-production techniques as they work in the new and exciting digital format. Students will work with the new Apple Mac Pro computers with Apple's newest iLife and professional level software such as Final Cut Pro, QuickTime Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, SnapZ Pro, ScreenFlow, Adobe After Effects, and more. Students will produce videos ranging from sports highlights, class memories, interviews, commercials, family documentaries, comedies, demonstrations, and many more.

A brief history of moviemaking and its influence on society the last 100 plus years will also be included throughout the course. Students will be required to do "after school" and "weekend" video work, and it is highly recommended that the students have access to a digital video camera (tape or card). All individual or team produced video projects will be burned to a student designed and authored DVD and case. Students will pay for or supply all blank media and storage cases.

958/959 - MultiMedia Technology 3 is an exciting, full year, project oriented,"hands on" course, designed for the video enthusiast, focusing on the audio and video side of the interesting world of multimedia (animation, color, graphics, pictures/photos, sound, text, and video) technology. Students will focus on projects at a higher level of sophistication and technical proficiency than Multimedia Technology II #957 students. Students will work with the new Apple Mac Pro computers, Apple's newest iLife and professional level software such as Final Cut Pro, QuickTime Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, SnapZ Pro, ScreenFlow, Adobe After Effects, and more. Seniors electing this course will help to direct, lead, and produce their Senior Memories Movie (2011 - 2010 - 2009 - 2008 - 2007 - 2006 - 2005 - 2004)as well as other exciting and educational videos. Juniors and seniors electing this course will help to direct, lead, and produce a Spartan Year in Sports Highlight Video, sports videos to be used in conjunction with Wyo5Live and the Sports Banquet, as well as produce other exciting and educational videos. A continuation of the history of moviemaking and its influence on society the last 100 plus years will also be included throughout the course.

The 2011 Senior Movie, to be shown to their clasmates and the classes of 2012, 2013, and 2014, is due one week prior to the showing in May of their senior year. All 2011 Senior Movie DVD's and cases must be completed one week before graduation.
